From what I know, the present time(2007) we live in is based on A.D, which is the years counted after the death of Jesus(correct?) Well, then how many B.C years were there and what did those people do or believe in? And what about things like the ice age? I watched a show once about some scientists/archaeologists that had found bones of humans dating back to the ice age etc..so what did they believe in? ..did they have a belief system? Was that before Adam and Eve? I really want to be at peace with myself and possibly follow the word of God but...there are sooo many questions and I know there is a passage in the bible that says something about "do not lean on your own understanding.." or something like that and people say how the human mind has limited capacity of knowing somethings but really if God then limited our minds, how in the world are we supposed to believe? Was it like a trick thing or what? I dont want to end up in the wrong but it's quite frustrating actually..

Wow, believe me I understand you're confusion, I was confused like you too once. And sometimes I still wonder these things...but in the Bible it states Adam and Eve were the first Man and first Woman, so technically there were none before them. Also, before the knowledge of God our Father people believed in many other gods, The Roman gods of mythology for example, the egyptians believed in various different gods.... just study history and you will learn all about this. They're sometimes refered to as 'false idols'. And if you want you can email me and I will try to be more helpful! I am actually very ill today, so this isn't the best time for me to answer this question. I just saw it and wanted you to know I understand how you feel, and that it's important for you to continue to question and find answers. God Bless.

Religions have a way of frustrating everyone.
Religions are a collective belief of many whom elect to group together to floow an idea about "God" and what their idea of Reality is.

Reality being whom you are, where you came from, why you are here and so on.

Most, if not mnearly All religions teach that "God" is one to be worshipped, "God" is "above" in a "heaven" and if you "sin" you will suffer forever and a day.

And this is a false Reality created by those religions by interpretations of events they connect to "God".

Christianity has some good points and lessons, yet, the literal interpretations of biblical events delute the symbolic teachings intended.

I recommend you read Edgar Cayce, or Jane Roberts in "Seth Speaks";further, research Near Death Experiences. All of this can be located on the net or a library, click search and go.

Learning is a process, that includes learning about God
and the depth of His love.
There is a scripture that reads something like
"now we see as through a hazy glass, but we will
see face to face"
Learning is one thing, we are always learning, having
a relationship with God is another thing, and very important.
We receive revelation after revelation, knowing more and more. The initial step is just knowing for certainty that
God is real and Jesus has made a way for you to
be with God for eternity by ariving on Earth as a human, that His ministry on Earth was powerful, that he was crucified and arose. If a child can not be capable of knowing this, then it is not of value. It is a spiritual dicernment about it - that you
belong to and were created by God - with belief in His atonement.
The intellectual side of it is important, though, and does
not conflict - only conflicting with the limitations of our intellect.
You believe by spirit, you learn by God's amazing
gifts and grace as you recieve them. Spirit is more
important than mind and they become more and more
in agreement. I hope that helped you. Do not be
willfull against God and you will do great. Questioning
religion is fine to do, questioning God's great gift of
redemption with doubt only blocks the
revelation. Asking God in faith, hope, and
humbleness is good, though.

Ad isn't 'after death' it's ano dominae. Jesus lived to be 30.

Anno Domini Nostri Iesu Christi" (meaning "In The Year of The Lord" in English ) and is used to show the number of years AFTER the time Jesus Christ was BORN (as opposed to B.C. ("Before Christ"),which shows the years BEFORE Christ was born).

That's why the BC years start at zero and go backwards into the past -- because nobody knows how many BC years there were.

(Okay, fundamentalists like to pretend they do, but they don't.)

And as for their beliefs: who knows? Like the Mayans and the Egyptians and the Greeks, they might have worshipped the sun and moon and other natural phenomena. Nobody knows what the pre-ice age humanoids believed about God or gods.

It is fun to wonder about, though....

Job was the 1st book written and he believed in Yahweh. He did sacrifices and prayed to God. We don't know for sure what he called Him but he knew Him.

Too many questions in your question ...........faith comes through hearing the gospel preaching and by believing the gospel.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

I'd love to answer those questions i could answer but I can't here it would take about 1/2hour.

God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace.
Grace is not [the author] of law vs law, but of truth.
Grace neither makes, nor takes law vs law sides.
For all sides wars have this 'side effect': death.

In Galatians 5:4 it's called Christ is of "no effect",
which happens only when you're justified by law.
In 1Thessalonians 5:3 it's called "destruction",
comes upon them saying peace & safety in law.

POINT: Grace is not Law Law, nor Law vs Law.
Grace can't lie(law) nor die(law). Law Law does both.
Grace neither tempts(laws) nor can be tempted(lawed).

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Well, then how many B.C years were there
-- 13.5 billion since the big bang. Before that....infinite? None? Who knows, really. Time may not have existed then.

and what did those people do or believe in?
-- Who knows...

Was that before Adam and Eve?
-- You are assuming they existed. Bad assumption.
