Don't laugh just yet everybody. If the farter did it on purpose knowing that the smellie has a respiratory problem or a medical condition that could be aggravated by the fart, the farter could actually be charged in some way. No kidding. Recklessness, intent etc., all play a role in how or whether a crime is charged.

In my state, if you fart on purpose with intent to annoy, harrass or alarm you can be arrested for a misdemeanor.

Somewhere in this country, someone will go to jail for felonious farting.

It is not possible to die of someones fart. And if it could happen, unless the person knew and was warned his farts could be deadly, he would most likely get manslaughter.
And remember, you can't spell manslaughter without laughter!

Though sometimes it smells like the person who released it has died, no you can't die from inhaling someone's noxious gas.
