My job requires hours staring at computer screen, my eyes really sting. How can I stop this from happening?

First of all get an eye test to make sure you don't need glasses. Try to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. You could try using eye drops? Also try to take a 5 min break every hour at least away from the screen. Don't sit too close to the screen and make sure there is adequate light in the room. Look away from the screen often and keep blinking.
Hope this helps.

You need to blink often, consciously. May be you can set up a small program to remind you to blink often. Artificial tears can also be applied to help lubricate the eyes and the eyelids. If that is not feasible, just wash with normal water or a little warm water to which a little salt is added.

Close your eyes for a couple of minutes and palm them (put your hands palm side over your closed eyes) and if possible, gently massage the eyes with the lids closed.

On weekends, when you need not stare at the computer screen, your eyes will get rest.

Get an eye-test quickly!!

I think you should adjust the brightness of your computer screen or the lighting in which you sit and have 5 minutes per hour away from your computer screen. If your boss says this is unacceptable, slap him with health and safety - extremely important for computer use! xx

You need to take a break from screen. Try 5 minutes every half hour looking at distant objects. For eyes, either flush with water or lukewarm teabag, to ease stinging (carry a napkin with teabag as it will stain clothes if you press too tight and it runs down your face).

Put a few drops of Optrex in your eyes, and give yourself a break from the computer every 20 minutes.

i liked the line "...it is unexplainable, the attraction of this poor, hopeless soul to a vibrant goddess of existential rejuvenation" i dated a girl for about 3 years and loved her to death and then she broke up with me. worst time of my life (so far) and this puts a lot of that emotion down on paper. the darkness that you feel you'll never come out of and the despair that you'll never find another person like her... it's rough. it was a little depressing at the end, but i think i kinda like that, it gets your point across. good work, you use those words well.

Cut a few slices of cucumber and place them over your eyes. This will make your eyes feel good and also brighten up the whites of your eyes.

Be sure that you are drinking enough water. It could be a contributing factor.
