Most scanner are compatible with windows xp, if you will purchase one, you should read the specification and it always shown in the package the operating system compatibility.

GOOGLE for the scanner name + driver + XP If you can locate a drive for it (try manufacturers site also) then it will work with XP.

i think most of the scaners are compatible with windows xp and it is common opereating system and drivers can be easily found on internet.
