Anything with a high fiber content will fill you up and keep you feeling full longer.

Apples are a good snack

Popcorn in the evening. If you can invest in an air popper and eat it without butter or just a little butter. Microwave popcorn is bad for you so try to stay away from that.

Meals should be small and have a carb and a protein in each with lots of veggies.

Try eating 5-6 smaller meals a day rather than 3 meals.

Eat celery: That's a low-calorie food that has to be chewed a lot.

Keep fruits and vegetables around for snacks.

Some cereals are really great for filling up in the morning: I like Grape-Nuts, when I can get it. But you should try to get something with extra protein and maybe some fruit juice too.

When I worked at a delicatessen, we had a really great cold chunky vegetable soup called gazpacho. And believe me, it is filling! Try to find a good recipe for it. I do remember we had tomatoes, celery, green pepper, onion, basil, oregano, spicy tomato juice, tarragon, and a few other herbs and spices in it. And the vegetables were chopped not liquefied- so you had something you could sink your teeth into.

Good luck!

Sometimes on the menu they will make a notation of what is healthier. At olive garden they put a little leaf next to the entree. Also, applebees has a weight watchers section. Grilled chicken is healthy. A sandwich can be healthy, just make sure to ask for no mayo because that can add 100 calories right there.

You can eat vegetables. They are low in calories and in fat.
You need a balanced diet. You could try eating smaller meals more frequently. Eat healthy items. Skip the junk or reduce it. Don't let yourself become so hungry that you are starving. A woman I used to work with said that to be thin requires that you will always be a little hungry. You just have to get used to that feeling. I drink water throughout the day. That helps me a little even though I've heard that it doesn't because it doesn't stay in your body long enough. I believe hot or warm foods help give you that feeling of fullness.

breakfast should be your largest most filling meal of the day, it gets you thru the day. A cup of oatmeal with a half cup of strawberries and a cup of non fat milk is a good breakfast and stays with you thru the morning. Lunch is when you get in most of your protien and veggies, and dinner should be a small meal with a light snack at bedtime, like half an apple.

i believe in whole, natural foods. that means eating whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and making the bulk of my diet veggies. i avoid calorie dense foods such as milk products and sweetened stuff. you will find whole foods have a ton of fiber and that fiber makes them filling without all the calories.

i like fruit and whole grain toast with natural fruit spread for breakfast. for dinner i like fish or chicken, usually marinated in something to add flavor and then grilled out. i like to make two veggies for my sides, at least one green one. for snacks i focus on fruits, and i like to add some nuts like smoked almonds in for good fats. eggs sometimes can be okay, just watch doing too many as they are calorie and fat dense.

just my take for what it is worth. you know what is healthy i suspect. it is a matter of finding what you like of those things you know are good for you.
