Most of you will have seen on the news about the murder of little Tahla Ikram in West London. The 16 month-old child was abused by his stepmother Sumairia Parveen while his father Abid Ikram did nothing to stop her. After his son's death Abid even arranged for his lover (who is also his cousin) Sumairia to flee to Pakistan. The two have stood trail for the murder and cover-up. It has been reported that the little boy had his limbs twisted and pulled until they broke and was left screaming as the bones ground together. He also had cigarette burns and his leg had been progressively sliced open until the tendons and veins were exposed.
Tahla Ikram died in unimaginable agony,
and what was the jail term given............

Another ridiculous sentence that in no way fits the crime. Its a disgrace. The sentence will really be 5-6 years tops...... for the life of a young child!!!!

Judges live on another planet!!!

Precedents set in the law dictate sentences for cases such as these to a great extent. For some reason, the judge must have found this to be a correct punishment in line with others – it is probably on the extreme side of lenient, but not unfair.
At least this killer did not get away with it, Pakistan has been proven to be incredibly lazy when it comes to enforcing human rights, in fact it is one of the worst in the world at this!

Sadly in the US it would not have been a life sentence...Joel Steinberg who committed a similar murder in New York State 12 years ago is now out and about

This is a horrible crime! They should have been sentenced to the same treatment as their son if they were guilty beyond doubt! Let them feel what it is like! Why did they do this? What was their excuse?

Oh my heavens!!! Nine years for the brutal killing of a child?? Unbelieveable! I hope now that the child can rest in peace knowing that he won't have to endure that torture anymore.

In the US, the punishment would have been either life in prison or death.

If it was life in prison, they would be killed by the inmates once they found out how sick they are.
