Isn't it funny how when you visit the Doctor's office, how you have to pay the same co-pay even if you are only seeing the nurse practitioner? The nurse does not have the same schooling and training and background so I should actually be paying less!

Why would you expect to pay less? She is a professional and does the same work the doc does in the office. The extra training the doc has is in surgery etc which the nurse practitioner chose not to get into. Other than the surgery aspect etc. the nurse practitioner does the same job as the doc usually.

In most cases, a nurse practitioner is likely to spend more time with you, be more thorough with you than the doctor is. And in most cases, the physician is consulted regarding all patients his/her nurse practitioner sees and signs off on the patient records.

so you don't believe in equal pay for equal work? pardon me but a nurse practitioner has the same training as a doctor with the exception of surgical procedures.
