where i work i here about so many people who not only drink but get wasted/drunk at lunch!!!1 i even saw one guy getting tore up at the local restaurant, not even 5minutes from the job! lol has anyone ever come to work wasted or a little tipsy?

that is awful not only does it provide a bad work environment but it also causes a liability. i worked with a minor who was drinking and drunk on the job. could have been major problems for me. she got fired. talk to your boss and if s/he is one talk to his boss.

I used to own a restaurant, and it wasn't just me having a few on the job. We'd sit down at the end of the night for our nightly pow-wow and anyone of age could have a drink. Every tasting room I've been at, the pourer will have a sample with you. Every bar I've been at, the bartenders drink on the job.
It seems like the days of the "3 martini lunch" are mostly gone, I guess it depends on the profession. I mean, I wouldn't condone this for someone driving a semi or operating a forklift!

I've seen 2 people using cocaine during a break at two different jobs. I've also seen people go to work while high on pot but I've never seen anyone show up for work while drunk. The reason being, we have to run a drug test to prove that someone is high but we can smell alcohol on someone's breath and going to work while drunk is grounds for termination at every job I've had.

haha...i used to make a habit of it....(timing my drinks so that i wouldnt have to drive..)
makes work somewhat tolerable...
