how do i create an association in the folder ptions control panel?

i cant open my email attachments

Detach the attachment from your e-mail and save it to your hard drive. (Remember where you put it)

Go to the file and right click on it. From the menu select "Open with...."

Scroll through the list to find the program you want to use to open that type of file. If not there, you will have to browse for the programs.

Once you find it, click the little box at the bottom which says to always use that program to open that type of a file.

What is the extension of the attachment?? If your friend has sent an anything.exe through email it won't be available to you for security reasons.
If this is the case then ask your friend to right click the file and send it to a compressed folder, then attach it as a anything.zip that will get through.
I'm only guessing as your not clear as to what type of attachment you can't open.
