Now bear with me.

Jesus Christ himself said that we would be persecuted for our faith. We are here to preach the truth. Those who are against the truth (atheists) would abhor it, and therefore hate the messanger also.

It's obvious that the atheists don't like hearing about God, but God is the truth. So a true Christian preaches the truth no matter what, even if it's unpopular.

No. you are hated because
1) you lie all the time
2) You are arrogant
3) In your arrogance you kill, maim, torture to delight your perversions
4) You like to touch kids
5) You do not follow the teaching of Jesus
6) You have barbaric beliefs about the world and the universe
7) You abhor knowledge, light, truth, morality, decency and justice.
8) You think it only natural that you use force to make others obey your beliefs
9) You think any other belief, even if it harms no one, should be punished severely.
10) You have this persecution complex that you are the meek who shall inherit as you march on your opposition armed and ready to slaughter
11) You would rather see people dead and in hell that those people be the slightest different than you
12) You usurp the authority of God to carry out vengeance, judgment and brainwash the young.
13) You have no true faith...because if you did you would not be using force+law to compel obedience to your viewpoint.

All religions have dogma to proselytize others, Duck Phup is correct when he says they seek out the ignorant and feeble minded. Ever noticed how prisoners become born again, the people who reach the bottom are always hungry to find sense of there screwed up lives. And I will admit that I'm glad they have found something to hang onto, even though I know it is false, I'm glad they have a new compass to guide them. It's shocking that the power of reason is the only thing that sets us humans above all other animals, and yet we are told by Christians to not think so much just (believe). They poo-poo this life on earth for another life in a place that doesn't exist.

If I were a 'true Christian' even Christians would not like me. Jesus was a true Christian and he got crucified for his beliefs.There were many 'believers' back then, and I'm sure they all thought they were "true believers", but that didn't keep them from commiting murder, did it?

Atheists are at least honest about their belief in God. They don't believe God exist, so what? Should they be 'crucified'?
Living a righteous life, and minding one's own business, is a 24/7 job. God loves atheists just as much as believers... maybe more... the "well" have no need of a physician.

Actually, if you use Jesus as a model you will notice a few things that many Christians seem to ignore or forget. Look at how Jesus talked to the woman at the well. Did he preach to her that if she doesn't believe in God she was going to Hell? Did he condemn her for her sin? Did he attack her? Or did he accept her where she was and show that he understood her position and that she could be forgiven?

The people that Jesus preached to with any ill temper were the people who said they believed in God, the Jewish leaders, the Pharisees and Sadducees, who said they were following God but were leading his people astray and were whitewashed tombs.

So please do not confuse the hell fire and damnation that takes place here with loving your atheist friends. If you love them you understand them and you want to help them not push them away.

I speak with some authority because I was an atheist for years and I understand that they are not idiots. Nor are they purposely trying to ruin the world or ruin your life or purposely head toward Hell. Nor will they come to Christ through expressions of hatred. So please don't think that you are speaking the Word of God if you try to condemn them. The Word of God is an invitation to Grace, not a word of condemnation.

You danged well betcha. Some things DON'T mean exactly what they say, and need to be 'spiritually discerned'. Take 1 Corinthians, for example:

1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that is very easy to interpret. Here we have a scam artist, trying to build an MLM organization, and trying to educate his victims on how to sort out the ideal types of NEW victims from those who will immediately see through the scam. He is essentially telling his potential recruits to focus their efforts on people who are as dumb or dumber than themselves... otherwise, they will just get laughed at. He is trying to convince them that stupidity and gullibility are virtues. It worked very well. It's a good thing, though, that these recruits did not know anything about scripture... otherwise, bits like Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, etc. might have presented a bit of a problem... stuff like:

15:2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

2:14 The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness.

Of course, some Christians might object to this interpretation of scripture... but no worries... our old buddy Martin Luther is very helpful in confirming it...

"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but... more frequently than not... struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God." ~ Martin Luther

"Reason should be destroyed in all Christians." ~ Martin Luther

"To be a Christian, you must 'pluck out the eye of reason'." ~ Martin Luther

"There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason, especially if she enters into spiritual matters which concern the soul and God. For it is more possible to teach an @§§ (donkey) to read than to blind such a reason and lead it right; for reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed." ~ Martin Luther

"[Christians...] claim that they are being persecuted because they are not allowed to force me to practice what they do." ~ D. Dale Gulledge

atheists are the ones who can see the truth, it is the Christians that have a problem with reality. Jesus didn't exist! religion means subjugation, Jesus represents deceit. the answers are in front of you, you first have to open your mind to the possibility that you might be wrong! then you can look at religion objectively, this is the only way to finding truth!

i don't abhor christians, I abhor religion.

Wow, all kinds of fun assumptions in that little spew. Atheists are against truth, your fictional deity IS the truth, etc. Yeah, that's nice and irrational. Further, what religion HASN'T been persecuted as some point in its history? I bet you can't name one. That proclamation by Jesus was like predicting the next sunrise.

Yes. I have atheist friends; Grace has no enemies.
Only yer Law vs Law (Loser vs Loser) has enmities.

Correction, and Instruction in Reighteousness(Grace):

"All who live godly in CJ shall suffer persecution".
CJ is NOT JC. CJ is mirrorly the reverse of JC.
JC: is the only foundation laid to build on: Mt 1:1
Eternal salvation is notably "through Jesus-->Christ".
The "life" in CJ is the life of life + death = a dead end.
Salvation in J of C-->J is temporal: saved + destroyed.

I have few problems with most adult atheists.
I find they do a good job of challenging the CJ nut cases.
How else can truth or lie be known, than if it's challenged?
I also find they give place to God, by their mention of God.
When presented with truth, and evidence, they respond well;
For Peter called Satan is told when(not if) he got converted,
only then should he strengthen(not weaken) his law brethren.

Nobody should have any problem with hear-ing about:
there is no dis-comfort at all in "the God of all comfort".

I also have a problem with hearing CRAP like:
our CJ God will give you atheists dis-comfort;
and crap like law imputed sin for the 'hell' of it.
To "them" who do it, pls note 1Thessalonians 5:3,
and pls note Galatians 5:4, and especially Jude 5.

PST: By THY words THOU art either:
justified(graced) or condemned(lawed).

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
