Me and boyfriend have recently started having sex (both 18, been going out 7 months), I managed not to have any sexual contact with anyone before him e.g. just kissing so do you think I should get a STD tests done, we use condoms and I’m on the pill but the condom broke once and he’s slept with 2 other girls before me.

He said to me the other day that he’s going to the doctors to get a medical and tested for diseases and stuff and I know he’s getting a blood test, do you think that’s his hint of him getting tested for STD’s, does a ‘medical’ (in the UK) account for STD’s??

I will ask him when I see him Monday (long-distance) how the doctor stuff went and obviously if he says he has something I will than get tested for definite. But if he says he’s all clean of everything would it be ok to have unprotected (only for oral) sex?

I'd still get tested just in case better to be safe than sorry!

Well you're "sort of" thinking, but you haven't internalized the logic behind the action....yet. The point of having yourselves checked for STDs is to assure yourselves of a clean bill of health before proceeding into a "safe" sexual relationship. But you've already begun having the sexual relationship.so you have in essence diminished the effectiveness of the process. Yes, it is still good to know where you stand, but if (God forbid) there had been a problem, you would already have been compromised. So, yes there is wisdom to being checked. Last point: a "clean" result is not implied permission to indulge in unprotected sex (even for oral sex) because it is still possible to pass on and contract disease through those forms of sexual expression.

once you start having sex it is always a good idea to get tested every 6 months or once a year....if he is getting tested and he comes back to have something what makes you believe that he will tell you.........everyone has secrets...they could be the most outspoken and look like a president and have a STD....educate yourself on all types of STD's even if you dont have one.....your b/f can tell you he has only been with 2 people.....and really be with 50...who did those other 2 people sleep with???cuz he slept with them too.....so just get the test done
