Are you having us on? Send her on the shopping trip and give her some extra money to go as an early Christmas present. As the children are yours you should be perfectly capable of looking after them for considerably more than a couple of days without expecting anything in return.

Hang on a minute I know that in marriage the missus owns you and you own the missus but that is a sign of partnership not slavery
For goodness sake do not try to stop here. Why bargain just give. OK no housekeeping but you need to eat how about giving her the amount you save to spend

You sound very controlling to me. The fact that she is too afraid to ask youin person. also, the fact that you said "if I do decide to let her go". Dude, just because she is married to you does not mean you own her. She has a life too, and everything does not revolve around you. Give her some space and tell her to go on the shopping trip and not to worry about stuff at home.

Let the woman have some fun!!!
Treat her still give her the shopping money, the thing is she'll remember what a kind thoughtful husband you are, prob bring you back loads of goodies. AND you might get an extra treat ( nudge nudge wink wink) LOL!!!

No offence, but they are you're children too. I understand that you're married, but it doesn't mean you own her. Mums like to let their hair down every now and again too, and have time to themselves. On the up side, she'll be much happier and loving when she gets home. Tell her to have a good time & spoil herself.

I fact that your wife is afraid to ask you this face to face make me wonder why...
are you so controling that she is scared
my husband trust me fully and would have no problem with me going away with my girlfriends...
we have even had girl only camping trips.
let her go show some trust in the woman you chose to marry

Why have a bargaining tool, why not just let her have a good weekend without payback?
