It's always difficult to lose a pet, and I am so sorry for your loss. Remember all the great times you had with Skye and hold her memory close to your heart. The pain will eventually pass. Keep your chin up!

Sorry to hhear about your pet. Did you ask the vet for her ashes?
You could make part of your garden a remembrace for her. I planted an orange rose over my cat (Norman)and whenever it flowered I thought of him. If you have Skyes ashes you could bury them in your plot if not plant a Favourite bush or tree and forgetmenots.
As time goes on you will not hurt so much, but you wont ever forget her.

So sorry for your loss, It will take time to heal. My mother recently lost her dog, she buried her ashes, leash and collar in the garden with a new flowering bush, then volunteered at the local animal shelter. Made her feel better that she could make things easier for other dogs, and Oh, the love you get back!

Rescue another dog. There are sooooo many Danes in rescue right now because stupid people get them as puppies, and then they don't realize that they GROW. The death of your beloved Skye, can mean a new life for one of the other dogs.

Good luck to you!

you could donate money to name something like a park bench or a part of a road after your dog...you know you see those plaques on benches or a pretty stretch of highway named after people...you could also register a star in the sky in your dog's name...or donate money to a great dane rescue or something

Check out www.petloss.com its a community of likeminded people who have lost pets too and can help you deal with it, etc. They have a forum and chatroom for talking to people, and other stuff (poems and memorials and such) too.
