Well unfortunately for your daughter, she has been tricked. They have been turning things over and over in her mind, so that she thinks that they love her more because they buy her things. I'm so sorry. I know this is hard. But the court will not let your daughter go just because your in laws are buying her things. If your confident in the way you brought her up, then you have nothing to worry about. Just because famous people sue each other for custody, it gives regular people ideas that it is possible for them to do also on a whim. Custody battles are very very hard to win, unless you have hard evidence that the child is being abused. Unless the police or social services have been involved before, or if there has been any kind of report set up against you, they wont take your child away. BUT they will set up an investigation. Don't try to hide anything be honest, no one expects parents to be perfect just to love and care for their child.

My prayers are with you, just stay strong and trust in GOD!

Teens aren't stupid, and a 16yr old who is in this situation isn't going to have the power to do what's right.

You aren't clear as to who wants custody, mom or the grandparents. The grandparents have no chance to get custody. Mom is another story and frankly this sounds alittle too contrived.

Here's the deal. In two years, she can do what she wants anyway. You are going to have to decide if this is worth fighting about. Get a lawyer.

Bring your daughter home and show the inlaws that you aren't playing their games.
