i have had my implanon in for the 3 years and have made an appointment to have it removed but it will be a month over due? i have had sex since it has expired could i be pregnant? does it stop workin the day it expires or can u go for longer

I think its much like the pill in that it the hormone can remain in your system for a while. Even when you have it taken out, it could still take a few months before you are clear of the hormones.
A lot of women do not concieve in the first 3-6mths after stopping B/C because of the residual hormones.
Be sure to ask your doctor when they take it out and if you think you might be preggers take a HPT and then have it taken out ASAP because the hormones can affect the fetus

I work at a doctors surgery and they told me it works for a week after it expires.
