I've just discovered my dad's guilty secret and I don't know what to do. He and my mother have been married for almost thirty years and until recently seemed quite happy.
Then my mother began to feel she'd let herself go, she decided to make some changes, enrolled at college, had a funky hair cut and registered with Weight Watchers.
Somehow or other, she persuaded dad to accompany her, he could do with losing a few pounds, and it was a nice night out for them.
Well I just had a terrible shock. I spotted him in the greenhouse with Mrs Myers from two doors down, it was dreadful, great big slice of devils food cake in one hand and a donut in the other.
He says it was Mrs Myers and he couldn't say no, but my mother is going to be devastated by his cheating.
What can I do?

This is a situation that you need to really investigate... Think about this, what if you are misreading the situation and you tell your mother something that is not correct. Talk to your dad, don't make any threats, just talk to him and see what his side is. I would also talk to Mrs Myers and see if her story matches his. Make sure you have all the facts before you ever start to consider talking to your mother, because if you are wrong, you might ruin both their lives.

You know, there may have been the start of something wrong and he may have stopped it before went too far... should he be punished because he did what was right and you just don't know it?

First let me tell you this your father may not be cheating on your mother . Men like women are human they get their feeling distorted also. Your mother wants him to join class and wanta him to loose weight when she got on the hip side. Your father may have felt that she did it because she is seeing someone outside of marriage. He gets more attention from someone else and thinks hey i am not my wife's no. 1 anymore so why not no harm in that. Don't jump the gun just yet you might be digging your own grave.
