I am assuming from your picture that you are a woman so apologies if not as that's how I'm angling my answer... Also I would generally say drink whatever makes you feel comfortable but if you really need something classy then...
It depends on the occasion. If you are at party then cocktails are sophisticated although I would avoid screaming orgasms or a long hard screw etc, etc...
Aim for cosmopolitan or any variant on Martini.
I do find some of these are a little strong so if you aren't a big drinker you could opt for a longer drink.
Gin or vodka and tonic is fine (also one of the lowest calorie 'cocktails') or any cocktails that have a clear liquid will be fine (creamy cocktails can look less sophisticated in my opinion.)
Also avoid shots. They may be fun but you won't look sophisticated knocking them back and will end up extremely drunk.
If you are at a meal then that is slightly different, I would start with an Aperitif of your choice then move onto the appropriate wine for your meal (a general rule of thumb is to drink white wines with white meat and fish, and red wines with red meat but you could always ask your waiter if he could recommend a good wine to go with the meal. Men generally prefer to choose themselves rather than ask the waiter.)
Remember that there are also dessert wines available to go with your pudding and you can have a Grand Marnier, Cointreau or similar with your coffee.
Personally I think where ever you are; a lady drinking a glass of wine will always look sophisticated.
If someone else is buying you a drink and you want to make a good impression then I'd order a dry white wine.
I'm not sure about everywhere but most people in my area would consider a dry white wine a classier drink than sweet (Although rose is making a big come-back now and that is often sweeter)
If you don't like dry white I would probably opt for a spritzer although if you are buying your own drink no one will know so just buy what you like!
Also, champagne is always a winner!
Very briefly, if you are a man then I would probably say red wine is a good choice or a whisky based cocktail (JD and coke maybe), or even just whisky, brandy etc on its own. Beer is acceptable but I wouldn't say it was the most sophisticated drink!
As a drink with coffee I would highly recommend Brandy and Benedictine (although if possible have the drink made from the two separate liquors as the pre-mixed drink is no-where near as nice)

For a woman, a Cosmopolitan is a great choice.
For a guy, a vodka martini, straight up, is the height of sophistication, ESPECIALLY if you say "made with________ (Grey Goose, Ketel One, Brian Buru, Stoli) vodka, please, with a twist." (Olives don't belong in a top-shelf martini, IMHO; and if you order a "dirty martini," accept the 'rail' vodka because the salty olive juice kills any benefit of ordering a 1st-class vodka.)
Still undecided? Ask for a 'Bl*wjob' or 'S*x on the Beach' the bartender will fix you right up.

If your really looking for sophisticated, then you drink a Martini or Manhattan before your meal, the appropriate wine with your meal. Like white with chicken or fish, and red with red meat, and a really good top shelf aperitif with coffee after your meal...
