OK yes the Army is evaluating side arms and there some .45 cal in the testings. But as it stands now only the H&K USP .45 cal is in military service and some M1911a3's. but these are used by SOC. No US. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or marine may bring there own personaly owned weapon in to the theator of operation this is prohibited By the uniform code of military justice and other command policys.

Yes, US special forces use them for side arms, they have more stopping power, the a standard 9mm round.
The standard side arm for Delta operators is the M1911A1 which uses .45ACP.

A lot of our special op guys use it. I have heard that the military is thinking of going back to it. Terrific stopping round.

US forces are getting rid of the wimpy 9mm and going back to the man stopping .45.

Sure in all officers side arms. Plus if a solider brings his own weapon along. Why would the .45 round be abondened
