If she's 8 days over and there are no other signs of pregnancy then she is very likely not to be pregnant. Certainly from day 55 onwards you should be able to see and feel puppy movement in the abdomen, even when the b itch is carrying only a couple of pups.
The best thing you can do is to take her to the vet for a check. He will probably just palpate her. I doubt he'll do an x ray.
I would expect she's having a phantom pregnancy.
The vet can prescribe hormone tablets to stop the milk production and will probably recommend plenty of exercise and a reduction in the amount of food she is eating (this will help cease the milk production too).

yes 8 days is a long time to go over
Dogs dont usually go over for that long, anyway you need to get her to the vets now, theres a chance one or maybe a few of the pups could die and this will threaten the mothers life
Alos you could have a feel of her just to make sure the pups are still moving

You either have a false pregnancy, pyometra, or you miscounted. You should see a vet today just to make sure it is a real pregnancy and not a pyometra. That can kill a dog. Hopefully all is well and you just miscalculated. And sometimes bigger dogs do carry a bit longer, but 8 days is really overdue for a dog.

if you are sure of her dates get her to the vet immediately, your dog and her pups are at risk, if you are not sure of her dates then get her checked out anyway it is best not to take any chances. there is a condition called inertsure ( not quite sure how its spelt) which is where the dog can't contract or deliver her pups in which she will need a Cesarean, some dogs will start the labour process but there are others who show no signs at all, for the sake of your dog please don't wait and call your vet.

You should take her to a vet. So they can start the labor or get the babies out with operation. They also can check the mother and make sure if she is OK too. You cannot find out if the babies are fine in their mother by yourself. So you should go to a vet immediately.
Good luck

If she's showing no signs of distress everything is probably fine but best to get a vet to check her out as a precaution.

Rather do it sooner than later. You dont want to risk something going wrong. And just like humans, due dates are not an exact science.

Imediatly if she is 8 days over her due date it means something's wrong. Its normal for 1 to2 days but 8 days would worry me.
