I am asking this very abstractly.

What are the drugs that are used in medication? What drugs can be used for medication? What drugs are grown from the ground and what are manufactured?

What illnesses is each drug used for?

there are too many drugs to answer this question. I could go on for ages ! but if u mean street drugs heroin is the most common. It is used in anesthesia and in pain relief in terminal patients. Cocaine was also used as an an aesthetic ... in fact it was the first one discovered but its very dangerous and addictive. Marijuana is used (illegally) by terminal patients as its a relaxant. Other drugs include coffee and nicotine which are a stimulant and a relaxant respectively.

Some drugs are grown and purified into pills. The same medicine, for example could be produced chemically in a lab and the synthetic and the natural versions of this medicine will produce different side effects while treating the same thing. Some medicines are from the insides of animals, a lot of times different parts of their brains. A lot of medications are created, sold, and begin to lose popularity. That chemical is then very slightly altered to where it is nearly the same med. The alteration was to change the chemical label completely to release it as a different and new medication.

Man, you don't want much. There are thousands of medications (BTW, drug is just a less formal term for medication) and a lot of them can be used for more than one illness. Most older drugs were derived from biological sources but are now synthesized in the lab and most newer meds were completely made up in labs.

there are almost no drugs on the street that were not used for a different purpose to begin with.. Everything from ecstasy to morphine had/has its uses in medicine, generally at lower doses..
