No. Darwinism has never, nor will it ever claim to be a religion. Darwinism makes no claims to either the existence or the nonexistence of that hot place where the guy with the horns & trident conducts his business.

Darwinism comes from scientific inquiry & evidence, not theological faith, so--to answer your question: No--people can't escape hell by joining Darwinism, since Darwinism only covers evolutionary theory, not big invisible monsters.

There is no Hell and Darwinism is defined thus:

Dar·win·ism
NOUN:

A theory of biological evolution developed by Charles Darwin and others, stating that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. Also called Darwinian theory

No mention of religion. It's just another word meaning Darwin's theory.

Peter, you are very young, aren't you? 'Darwinism,' which is a suspect reference in itself, isn't a religion that is real or unreal. And the man Darwin was not religious, he was not, no matter how much Fundies lie about it, a believer. And there is no 'hell' to escape from. Sorry to be direct and to-the-point, Peter. Believe me, it's my practice to speak softly to kids...I am a father...but, while it's no excuse, I'm caught up by other matters at the moment. Be well.

No, Charles Darwin was a Christian. Darwinism is evolutionary philosophy or theory and not a religion.

Darwinism is just a loosely used term for people that consider science to be true.

You can escape hell just by simply not believing in it. Hell is really only the very belief that you could go to such a place. If you believe in hell... you are in hell.

Good luck.
