This is a strange question, but can anyone tell me if anywhere in the bible Jesus gets burnt? I hope this isn't offensive to anyone in anyway as it is not meant that way. A friend of mine had a nightmare and asked me this question. THey didn't want to talk about the dream, but I couldn't answer the question, so if anyone out there knows the answer.....

I don't think he actually saw Jesus getting burned I get the impression there was a reference to it, or just a feeling about a reference to it. You kow what dreams are like. And my friend is not religious so I don't think he was influenced but other things in the bible. I also agree that dreams are dreams, t just caught my curiosity that's all.

No it's not so strange. In the OT, innocent animals were sacrificed by being burned for the Hebrews sins. And God actually called Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac in this manner. But Jesus, the Lamb of GOd was not burned. He was crucified on a cross.

This person may have been combining ideas of the burning of animals for sacrifices with Jesus dying on a cross. Dreams are nonsensical like that.

Jesus was in no way burned in the Scriptures. God wanted people to be able to recognize Him after He was resurrected. Some people erroneously think that Jesus went to hell when He died. But He did not. Your friend might be one of those who believes that.

Not that i am aware of...However, depending on your interpretation of the bible you could argue that Jesus was sacrificed to God to save mankind. At that time when a sacrifice was made to a God it was generally wholly or partly burned in the process and this could be where your friends nightmare is getting the image of Jesus being burnt....The mind is a strange and wonderful instrument!!!

There is no reference to Jesus ever being burned during his ministry. Little is mentioned about his childhood but nothing is mentioned about being burnt. Spiritually or metaphorically, he descended into hell to set the captives free so figuratively speaking one might say that he was a sacrifice like unto a burnt sacrifice after the ancient Jewish tradition.

No...I have never seen scripture that says Jesus was burned. It was just a dream, and as all of us know dreams can be pretty weird sometimes!

Not that I can think of... can you be more specific?

Check Revelation 1:9-20... there's a description of Jesus that among other things says, "his eyes were like a blazing fire," (v 14) and, "His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace," (v 15).

That's the best I can do for you.

Jesus was protected. Satan tried to get him to jump off a cliff, because in Psalm 91 there is a promise:

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

So Jesus was protected, and proved it many times when the Jews tried to kill him, until it was time for him to suffer.

No, not that I know of. Jesus was tortured, whipped, hit, crucified with nails being driven into His hands and feet. But I don't think it says anything about Him getting burned. It could have happened at almost any point in His life, but we aren't told about it one way or another.
