That's actually part of a routine by a comic that you probably never heard of named Lenny Bruce [1925-1966 ] that went something like "If Christ was executed today would we all be wearing electric chairs around our necks ?

I liked this question better when it was asked "If Jesus was hanged instead of crucified..."
We would probably have resorted to some other symbolism--likely either the fish (already common) or perhaps a hammer (a carpenter's tool). The 'little rock' is to vague.
According to the OT prophecy and rules about sacrifices, they could not break any bones of Jesus' body or he would have been an unacceptable sacrifice. Stoning would have likely broken several.

it is a matter of history that jesus was cucified and christians wear cross as a mark of reverence. it needs some imagination to guess what christians would wear if jesus was stoned instead of cruxification. it is very possible that the followers of christ would wear little rocks. there can be however no definite answer as the question is hypothetical.

Well I see you think you are funny, but let's take a look.
As He and His Sacrifice on a tree is mentioned multiple times in the old testament as prophesy, He was pretty much obligated to die on the cross so there isn't much chance he would have allowed Himself to die by rock. In fact several times the crowds hustled Him out of sight to keep that from happening.
So I don't know, I don't think your rock idea is valid and if you think about it not very funny either.

Great question. It's going to be interesting to see how the Jesus freaks intelligently design an answer.

Little do they know, Jesus never died on the cross.
The evidences that Jesus never existed are overwhelming.

not all christians wear crucifixes, but unfortunately the answer is probably yes. Ignorance, thank God, is forgivable.
