God created light on the second day, and sun or the moon or stars are not the only source of light...scientifically before stars were created they first are hot and wide nebulae, and these
also give off light. God to those who believe in Him, knows that He created things to the best of everything, plants, animals, humans and non - living things. My brethren, our mind ease only, if instead of asking God's work, should we solely raise our faith, and believe on his ways...God bless!

The Bible says in Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verse No. 3 and 5, that… ‘The day and the night were created on the first day and science tells us that the lights were creating in the universe is due to a reaction of the stars’. And the Bible says that the Sun, Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verse No. 14 to 19, says that… ‘The sun was created on the fourth day’. How is it possible that the result, that is the light was created 3 days before the sun? Illogical, it is unscientific and the earth, which is required for the presence of day and night, was created on the third day. Qur’an too speaks about the creation of the light and the sun but it does not give this impossible unscientific sequence. Do you think Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him), he copied from the Bible and he made corrections in the sequence? No one knew 1400 years ago. Bible says in Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verse No. 9 to 13, that… ‘The earth was created on the 3rd day’ and Verse No. 14 to 19, says that… ‘The sun and the moon were created on the 4th day’. Today science tells us that the earth and the moon are parts of the original star, the sun. It is impossible that the earth was created before the sun. It is unscientific, Bible says that the vegetable kingdom in Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verse No. 11 and 13, ‘the vegetable kingdom, along with the seed, seed bearing plants, herbs, trees, etc. were created on the 3rd day and the sun’, Verses 14 to 19 says was created on the 4th day. How can the vegetation come into existence without the sun? Bible says in Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verse No. 16, that God Almighty created two great lights – the sun, the greater light to rule the day and the moon the lesser light to rule the night. Bible says that the sun and the moon have its own light. And as I mentioned earlier, Qur’an clarifies in Surah Furqaan, Ch. No. 25, Verse No. 61, that the light of the moon is its reflected light. How is it possible that our beloved prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him) copied and corrected all the scientific facts. It is not possible. If you analyze the several stories that is mentioned in the Qur’an and the Bible, if you analyze it closely, there is a difference of chalk and cheese.

The Sun existed from the 1st day. It is just that God exposed it on the 4th day. Remember, on the 1st day, He created light and separated it from darkness which speaks of day and night. On the 4th day, He created the sun and the moon to rule over the day and the night which was created in the 1st day. So there's really no contradiction in the Bible. Everything is accurate. That also answers the question why the plants survived which was created on the 3rd day. Again, it's because Sun (light) was created from the 1st day.

Grotty Bodkin is right, the Bible does speak of TIME in the Heavenly Realm as more or less a day being a thousand years, but let's face it HEAVEN will be eternal. We however got stuck with the 24 hr plan, and day light savings time.Who really knows what GODS time table was when forming the earth. All that I can say is that, hey the plants r here, they never died off. They always come back when the snow melts.Besides,if u ask a scientist how a plant grows,he can tell u how,but if u ask him why?Why do plants reproduce after there own kind? How is it that a plant knows when to grow, when to blossom,or when to die?Humans reproduce after there kind, but we don't all look the same.Ah,why bother with telling u this, after all,it will only bring up more questions.LEARNING,AIN'T IT FUN?

This is an EXCELLENT question!
Homeland, you're right on the money. God sustained the plants and He also provided supernatural light, heat etc. before He created the Sun, moon or stars . It's interesting, the earth is older than the sun. We're talkin' God here not Industrial Light and Magic. God does supernatural things in conjunction with natural things, remember the boy with the loaves and the fishes? Jesus multiplied the food.

Better question... since we determine a complete day by the rising and setting of the sun, how did we even have DAYS before the fourth day?

Point number one that Genesis 1 may not need to be taken literally.

Good question! Also, the 'literal believers' will tell you that each day lasted 'thousands of years', so that makes your question even more interesting!!

Star for you . . .
