Visual artistes: Your comments are important to me?

Question

I'm thinking of doing photography as a professional thing. Just started out in March and have shot a couple of them lately. I would appreciate if you check out this link, and leave a comment for me so I know what you think of it. Sux?Some-what talented?Inclined to be good?What what?

Appreciate all the honesty you can throw at me.

first of all, if you expect photography to be a breadwinner, then you might be disappointed. even now after a few years of doing this, photography is only a side job for me.

upon looking at your pics, I would have to say that you have the talent but you still have a lot of room to improve. Don't let my comment let you down because it is a compliment - technically your photo looks good but artistically, you still have to learn a lot and it was the artistic side that is very hard to achieve when it comes to photography, or visual art in general.

My suggestion is, keep on taking picture - you're already on a good road.

You have a good "eye" for photography. I'm only commenting on 3 though. These comments are only my opinion.

In the one you titled "Doorway" it would have been better if the door frame was vertical and not tilted. Her pose is very good and has a mischeviousness about it.

In "Take 2" the composition should have been in portrait orientation and you should have taken more notice of the background. In the photo it looks as though there were trees or bushes to her right (your left) which might have made a better background. If landscape orientation is used it should includ all of the model, head to toe.

Again in "Take 3" I would have used portrait orientation. The background is also a distraction although I like that Post (?) to her left.

Keep doing what you're doing.
