I wasn't really brought up in church. I don't know what to believe or where to start. My husband is catholic and I'm not sure i believe the same stuff he does. Can anyone suggest where to start. I've tried to read the bible, but it confuses me.

make sure you have a readable bible
too many people get overwhelmed by old english texts

start with the Gospel of Luke
Luke writes the entire story of Jesus starting with John the Baptist's parents.
Matthew and Mark are along the same lines as Luke
the Book of John is more metaphorical or mystical and should be left for last.
The book of Romans is written by the apostle Paul and a great place to get alot of answers. again a readable bible will make all the difference in the world.

Remember to start first with a pray for help from God to guide you in His wisdom.

If Catholicism is where your heading in the long run you might call the church about taking a RCIA course.
There they will teach you alot and answer all your questions.

God is guiding you so don't forget to ask him for help

*Is Catholic*

Read A FATHER WHO KEEPS HIS PROMISES by HAHN.

That is a good general starting place.

Message me, tell me about your interests and I will give you more specific places to start for people of your personality type, interests, and spiritual needs.

(if you are into math, I can start you off with math, if history, history, if politics, politics, if you just like stories, stories, you name it, I will show you where to start.)

ps the Bible is confusing if you try to read it without the background that is presupposed. So I do understand your issues.

Get yourself an easier to understand translation such as the NIV.....or even better,,,,The Simplified English Version.
And start with the New Testament.

good luck

and don't be afraid to ask questions..........but not in here. The nuts in here don't care about you. Find a good Christian Minister and talk if you need help

Definitely not here.

Go talk to someone at your husband's church. They can explain it in a way that you will at least understand. Only you will know what you believe... you can't choose to believe something, you either believe it or you don't.

Well, most people are ignorant when it comes to religion, You dont have to join a club to believe in god, or you dont have to believe in god at all. Its all a belief so its all up to interpretation.
