I'm sure if the kids can handle the training and the routine, then sure. I'm not sure about the age they're allowed though. :)

4-H has some dog programs for young handlers:

I'd say find your local AKC obedience club and ask them about local Agility classes. I don't know if there is a lower age limit on handlers. But I think you must be able to control your dog in case of accident or emergency.
http://akc.org has club listing including Obedience and Agility Clubs AFAIK.
As far as the right training, find an Agility Club and go take classes with your dog. Join the club if possible.

Absolutely! In fact most agility trials have a reduced price for "Junior Handlers". However, it takes some training for both partners before you start competition. Seek out an agility/dog training club in your area and start attending. Many clubs have their own beginner classes, or club members can direct you toward professional coaches in your area. Good luck! You and your kids will love it.

YES!!!!!! Kids can, and DO compete in agility with their dogs!
My daughter, when she was 10 trained her Sheltie and started competing...and didn't enter Jr classes! Right in with the adults and quite often won 1st place! Qualified to go to the NADAC championships when she was about 13 years old! She is 24 now and competing with her third agility dog.
Quite often, as unfortunately there just aren;t a lot of Jrs out there, agility trials do not offer classes for Jrs...but it doesn't matter! They can enter in "regular" classes. Many are as good, if not better than, a lot of adults! Faster! ;-)
I have seen kids at trials that are about 8 years old on...
Both of us have been training agility students for about 12 years.
We currently have 4 "kids" in classes...from about 11 to 15 years old. I LOVE it! They can be very refreshing.....more fun and animated than adults, able to enthuse their dogs more!!
The right training? Same as adults! Join agility training classes!
search:
www.cleanrun.com for list of trainers throughout the country
also, for "calendar of agility trials"...
you can go to a couple of agility trials and watch! and ask around for trainers in your area!

People of all ages can compete in agility. Lots of trials have junior handler classes, so sometimes you can compete in those and in regular classes. Check the websites I gave you for the AKC, CKC, and AMBOR, and they'll give you more details. Usually, in junior handler classes, they are judging you, and how you handle your dog, and in the regular classes they are judging the dog. Maybe, if you compete enough, you can get a ranking! Wouldn't it be cool to be #1 (or 2 or 3 or even # 20) junior handler in the US?

Yes kids can compete and can learn by taking the same classes with an agility club as the adults. a Jr handler in one of my clubs made the national finals over most of the adults!
USDAA has Jr handler only classes at some trials

I dont think there is an age limit. You need to find a training club in your area.. you should start by taking your dog to obedience classes, a dog needs basic obedience before he can do agility

Sure, of course. They can attend classes as adults do and if they can grasp the concepts of consistency in training, then they can compete.
