first give yourself some time for it to heal. While you are waiting don't dwell on the past, but look forward to what may be in store and be thankful for what good you had and the lessons you learned when it was all said and done. There is a lot to learn from the experience so there's no need to feel like this is wasted. Especially since the experience showed you what your priorities are. I would wait a little while to date until you are able to be confident with or without a man in your life - then you will be fully able to appreciate a good one when they come along instead of trying to fill the gap that your ex left behind. Good luck!

You just have to move on.
You learned something and that keeps the relationship from being a total waste.
Sadness is pretty normal when you break up with someone--even when you dated for a short time.
Maintain the friendship. But make new friends and--when you're ready--start dating again. Life does go on.
So should you.

Friends and family, is basically what is needed
to get over a break up.
The rule of thumb to deal with this is to tell yourself that you want to get over him . If there is still a little bit inside you that wants it to still work out, then you will never get over him and nothing you do will ever work. It has got to start with inside yourself. And you need to stay away from him during the initial period till you are comfortable with meeting him again.
Talk to someone about the break up. You need to let it out! Bottling it up inside of you is never going to solve your problem. Always verbalize your problems to a listening ear. Any problem whatsoever.
Talk to someone in a similar situation helps too.
Get more ideas on how to get over a break up.
Get busy. Occupy yourself with meaningful things like picking up a hobby or learning something new or preoccupying yourself with books and work.
Watch funny movies, read funny comics, chill and laugh around with your friends. Laughter as always is the best medicine. It always makes you feel better no matter what.
Get rid of whatever items that remind you of your partner. Numbers, messages, letters, gifts. If you can't bear to throw them away, put them with your close friend or somewhere you can't easily get to.
Start to concentrate on the negative aspects of your partner's character and tell yourself it is not worth it.
Meet someone better. Go dating, meeting new people, making new friends always helps.

Well first give yourself time to heal, then it is like riding a horse if you get thrown off you get back on. Perhaps he was not the one for you, as it says in the Bible, "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" If there was not agreement on yoru goals you are not right for eachother.
