I have had pain in my left lower back and stomach the past couple days. It seems to get really intense when I lay down to the point where I have slept a couple hours a night. I had heartburn the other day but it went away. It seems that the pain goes away or is less intense when I am standing. I do get nausea when I lie down and after eating. Thanks.

Lower back pains are usually signs of kidney problems. It can be back/ spinal stress problems.

Worst it can be signs of appendicitis if it goes on and you get a temperature.

It can't be hernia otherwise you will have protrusions from your lower abs or from your scrotum.

Best is to see a doctor and make sure you record your episodes of pain and its intensity/ degree so doctors can diagnose you well.

See if you have these symptoms and then see a doctor if you do. If a hernia goes untreated it can cause a lot of other problems.

Even if you don't, I'd see a doctor.
