well being a guy, ....not that it really matters about your last name but when you first meet someone interesting it is kind of a common thought that you are a strong out going individual how has there feet on the ground. Now not saying there's some strange people out there that might cause issues but usually good guys just like to know your name. You could always use a false full name so they don't get quiet on you. and maybe after you see them for awhile you might change your mind about the name issue. Oh by the way I have met individuals like you that just are not comfortable on first dates or meetings with full name usage so its okay.

My, how time does fly. There was a time when a young woman would never give her FIRST name to a new acquaintance.

In an even earlier era, even married couples called each other by Mr. Smith or Mrs. Smith. If they ever used each other's first name, it was only in the privacy of the boudoir.

But as to your question, I can't imagine going on a date with someone about whom I know only his first name. That doesn't sound like a very safe thing to do. Sounds to me as if you're both putting a lot on faith here.

I've never been asked for my last name on a first date. A lot of times I'd say the guy already knew it beforehand! I find it offensive if a guy doesn't find out my last name, and I'd probably freak out if I asked a guy and he wouldn't tell me. However it's completely up to you what you want to reveal about yourself to other people, :)

i don't remember if I ever told my last name at a first date. I consider it better if they already know your last name, then it will be easier... Familiarity and the rest are the best

I don't go on dates with men I don't know well enough for us to already know each other's last name.
