Sorry Boogey, that's not going to cut it. Are you sure you want to send her through "Death Alley"? Probably not a good idea.
Fastest way to do it is late at night, starting after 7 or 8, so that the traffic dies down.
If you take 101 south, you should stay on 101 until it turns into the 134, then the 210 east. Basically, just keep heading east until you get to the 15 south (around Rancho Cucamonga). Then take the 15 south to Temecula. This allows you to avoid the downtown LA area without driving all the way to Magic Mountain.
Keep in mind that in the morning, traffic is heading toward downtown LA, and away from it in the afternoon. Since you are going to be going "both ways", as it were, you'll need to choose your time carefully.

I have lived in Santa Barbara and it is a bueatiful place to live. It is very expensive. The biggest problem I found was the lack of a social life. You have two main groups of people. The rich and the students. If you don't belong to one group or the other, there is not much to do. If you are single you are out of luck.

If I was to do it (and have, many times), I'd take the 101 south to the 126 east (Ventura), south on I-5 to the 210 east, to the 15 south. This will avoid all of the crazy LA traffic by skirting the city and will get you there faster and with less aggravation.

Just a heads up, the 91 East bound will be closing on Saturday night (one day only for now) and they're doing lots of work on 74 (Ortega Hwy.) Try mapquest

The 15 south....Watch out for the first to exits, they didn't consider the amount of people that moved there and the off ramps are the worse, be prepared...The first one you will come upon will be Winchester...
