Okay, so my boyfriend is in the army, he has been gone for just about two months. I love him with all m heart, we have been together for almost one year and nine months on the 12th. I told him, before he left, that I would wait for him to be done with the army. I am willing to out my heart on the line and wait for him knowing that it might not work out in the end, and that I could get really hurt. BUT because I love him that much, I am willing to do it. I just got a letter from him today saying that he doesn't know if he is holding on to nothing. I just started college and he is worried that I am going to find someone else. But I know myself, and I know I'm not going to... because I am not a big fan of people so I try to stay away from them. He asked me for advice: should he let go, or keep holding on. How do I get him to understand that he is the only person I want? And that he is the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I've sent him like 6 or 7 letters.

I've told him in past letters that when I am in school I am either in class, or doing homework, or writing him letters, or thinking about him. I want to be with him, I would do anything to be able to. How can I get him to realize that I will wait for him no matter what happens? That I am not going to meet anyone because I love him, apparently more then he thought I did.

It's not that I don't like people, I just don't like socializing much.

write to him and TELL him exactly what you told us here. Call him often, and set up an internet connection and chat with him on line. If love is real, it stands the test of time spent apart.

if you two were married, the army would keep you close except for deployments. but normal assignments you can be together. Deployments are hard on a relationship. Right now he is probably feeling alone. keep in touch. keep writing letters. and see how it plays out.

yikes! You lost me at "I am not a big fan of people so I try to stay away from them"

Hope you get answers but I don't think "People" should give you any since you'll try to stay away from them.
