If you gotta go to work hell ya especially if they seem fine. My son pulled this one when he was 9 and i got out of work to see him. He looked good to me. I told the nurse if he threw up again to call me and i will take him out of school. Of course i didnt tell m y son this or he would make himself throw up.
If he doesn't have a fever there is nothing to worry about!!
Good luck with this one Dad!!

really this depends. As a child I had anxiety disorders that would cause me to become physically ill with just the thought of situations like going to school. The teachers thought i was faking it and i missed a lot of school because of it. I was 16 before they figured out what was going on. I wouldn't run a fever or anything but would throw up. If my kid was throwing up before school i would want to know why. My son threw up before school a few times and we discovered it was just allergies causing him to gag on snot basically so he was put on allergy meds but he also has a slight anxiety disorder. So I would want to rule out what could be wrong first. If it was allergies then meds will help, it is was anxiety then they might need help with that, if there is a fever then i would know to call the Dr....

I wouldn't make the child go to school. I would ask first if that child felt well enough to go to school. Sometimes children feel fine right after throwing up but then start feeling sick again a few minutes later.

No, kids throw up for a reason. They may feel fine but it won't last and i would not want it spread around. It drives me nuts when people do this because next thing you know half the class is off school vomiting. Nearly always including mine

Standard practice in the UK is that a school won't take a child for 24 hrs after they throw up.

No. Too many times when I was a kid, I got sent to school after throwing up, only to be sent back home, leaving behind a ticked-off janitor cleaning behind me.

No, and the school would only send them home anyways. Policy says if your child is vomiting within 12 hours of going to school, then they are to stay home. It could be a bug that you don't want to spread.

Being a school bus driver and having a parent last year send her daughter to school even though she was throwing up before school so she up-chucked on my bus-ABSOLUTELY NOT! If your child is throwing up they are to not go back to school until they have not vomited for 24 hours.
Have you ever cleaned up barf on a bus? It is not easy or fun!

No, and doing so is not fair to the other children since your child could still transmit whatever "bug" caused him to throw up.

No fever, and no other symptoms and I gotta work to feed the monster, yep. The school nurse will call you if he starts puking again. Will give the other little monsters something to talk about when the janitor comes with the jar of kitty litter and the mop.
