Coffee or Tea?

Question

Just sitting here with a cup of coffee and started to wonder what you guys like to drink?

I also started thinking. A lot of people i know that smoke cigarettes also drink coffee. Is there a connection? hmmmm...

Sorry i meant to put "a lot of people i know drink coffee rather than tea" Do smokers prefer coffee?

Personally, I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar. I will drink iced coffee or frappacinos though.
I like tea better, but I know that it has just about as much caffeine as coffee so it is really not a calming drink. I like iced tea better, but hot tea is a great way to clear sinusess.
I also drink hot chocolate, milk (white and chocolate), Kool-aid, orange juice, smoothies, vitamin water, yogurt, and those fresh fruit slushes at Sonic. I will drink the occasional soda, but I cannot really handle the bubbles or caffeine.

I think the connection between coffee and smokers is a buzz thing. Both of them give you a similar high. My friends who have been smokers have all drank coffee too. One of them gave both up at once. It was worse than a two year old throwing a tantrum! Everyone begged him to at least start back on the coffee until he could kick the cigs. When he had at least a little coffee in his system, his mood was not nearly so irritable.

I was a heavy Tea drinker until I went a cup too far and made my self ill and I can't face Tea, the only time I drink tea now is if I have no coffee.

I gave up smoking nearly 5 years or so ago, the connection you suggest doesn't exist.

Caffeine is found in Tea as much as it is found in coffee and most people forget that caffeine is a drug which does have its side effects.

As you will find theirs allot of information on the drug and it is like most drugs like alcohol and cigarettes, the excessive use is bad for you.

So next time your wondering why you feel a bit off colour, just think how many drugs you have taken that are disguised as everyday available treats, drinks & smoking products.

My sister that smokes she drinks alot of coffee.
My sister that drinks alcohol and drinks alot of coffee. ( she don't smoke)
My other sister that don't smoke she drinks alot of herbal tea but she does have a minor flaw she eats meat but that's her choice. John Cash was a smoker.. He came up with Burn a Ring a Fire when making a smoke ring in the air!
I don't think there be much of a connection. However it is good for smokers to drink coffee cause coffee can partly clear the lungs. Also coffee can slow down cancer growth cells!

Well personally I am a tea drinker, by the way no, I'm not a smoker, but I am a friend of former and current smokers. I have observed that trend----smoking and coffee. My boyfriend used to smoke and when he was quiting caffeine was the replacement of nicotine. However, after one to many adrenaline rushes and caffeine crashes he gave up the Redbull and morning coffee. Now he's a Zsenso iced tea drinker and an occassional Kahveccino coffee drinker. Awesome stuff!!! You should try them!! Great flavors, healthy, and better for your body.

I smoke and I love my coffee. Especially in the morning before work it just go together so well.
Strong filter coffee, black, no sugar, hmmmm. Drink about 5 cups a day. I also drink lots of green tea, hot or cold, I make it in 500ml beer mugs, also no sugar or milk/cream, just as is. Great for thirst! No "usual" tea, don't much like it.
Mind you, I smoke with all kinds of drinks, coffee, green tea, water, wine, beer, etc.etc.

Never did like coffee (I used to smoke). Tried it once in the Army and never tried it again. I like tea once in a while but if I want something hot I will have cocoa.

The cigarettes and coffee thing is a smoker's thing. You will never see a smoker drink coffee and not have a cigarette with it unless they are in a no-smoking establishment (which most smokers avoid anyway).

Use to smoke and loved it with a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea. But I prefer coffee in the winter in the mornings, the rest of the time I drink iced tea all year round.

I think it is a matter of preferences, some of us like coffee, some like tea, some don't even drink coffee or tea. Hence it is hard to classified people who smoke as coffee lover. Anyway I personally like tea more.

I`m a non smoker and I drink far too much coffee, around 8-10 cups a day
