Anyone used to be Catholic but converted to a Protestant? And what were your reasons?

I love catholics, but the Roman catholic church has a lot of man-added-foolishmess attatched to it.

Mary was not a virgin for life. like all good Judea-Christian wives she had sex with her husband and bore other mortal children after the son of God.

Mary was blessed among mere mortal women, but she is not a god before God, that catholics should pray to her before Him, He said "Have no gods before Me!" and "Love the Lord with all your heart" (not Mary)

She is the daughter of God (not his mother). He existed throught all eternity, but she lived a typical brief human life, that begam with her conception.

Speaking of conception, I respect the pope's ruling that all forms of contraception is a sin (more so than most catholics I bet) but he is just a man.

Popes have declared themselves "infallible", then they contradict the last "infallible" pope. Only God is infallible. The pope uses his delete button...just as I should now.

The current pope put his foot in his mouth, speaking against Arabs, then had to back-track. He can't even stick to his own "infallible" self!!! Whats up with that???

And dozens of other things, including "selling" forgiveness (which only God gives)...remember, in the bible, Scripture-aware Jews condemned Jesus for saying "Your sins are forgiven". Unlike priests, Jesus WAS GOD who has the power to forgive!

They once sold "indulgences" for money, that "forgave sins" EVEN in advance (like an acomplise to sins), until a priest quit over that sinful practice.

His name was Martin Luther (after whom Martin Luther King was named) . His "protest" was called the "reformation"...the protest against un-biblical catholic lies...that led to an enlightenment ending the Latin-only UN-readable bibles priests fooled the people with.

Luther's protest launched the first protestant church (PROTESTant). But we protestant christians are "catholic" in the original meaning, which was "universal".

There is only ONE "church", the "BODY OF CHRIST" on earth until He returns. We believers are His "temple"...His CHURCH...with the LIVING Christ Jesus, the head of that 1 church, not a man called pope!!!

Protestants are REAL back-to-the-Word-of-GOD Christians.

Yes.Simple...I wanted the truth and found it.I bought a Bible and studied it for hours on a daily basis from cover to cover and then books,chapters,verses and eventually individual words.Concurrently I spent years on comparative religions and historical studies.Christianity is thee ultimate Truth[JN14:6].And not only is Catholicism false but so is every other religion in history.In fact,all the protestant denominations are merely Jr.Catholic splinter groups[though they have the the right idea with Sola Scriptura and EPH.2:8-9].And most of official history is trash[at least the books written since the 1950's].And no,I'm not non-denominational or a part of any sect or group.There are too many apostates in our world in these Last Days.

Was always taught good works was the way to achieve eternal life and found out in Eph. 2 : 8 & 9 works can show you're a converted christian but it is God's grace that makes you a christian and you have to have faith in that grace.

How about the other way around? Discovering the fullness of the Christian Faith? And by the way, Catholicism has never taught that Good Works will earn you salvation and eternal life. Read the NT Book of James. Faith and Works go together.... not one or the other.
