I have honestly heard some say, that geological phenomena is the direct result of the waters receeding after the 'great flood'.
I can't make crap like this up...
EDIT TO anarkhan: Not quite true. Creationists tend to view the bible, as a whole, as literal. By this logic, god creating the earth and man in 7 days, means 7 days. The concept of a day being figurative gained momentum as more scientific evidence pointed away from the literal view.

I am a Creationist, I guess you could say.
First off: we don't believe that every fossil in the ground is at least 10,000 years old. We actually believe they are around 6,000+ years old, not near 10,000.
Secondly: when God created the flood, the animals that weren't in the ark were the "fossils" that evolutionists believe were there millions and billions of years ago. Proof: how else could shell fish and other sea creature fossils be found ON TOP OF MOUNTAINS, where evolutionists cannot come up with a legitimate logical explanation for them.
Thirdly and finally: How could "nothing" form dust, which exploded as a result from "nothing," creating "something" which turns out to be "us." FACT: Charles Darwin admitted on his deathbed that evolution was just a lie that he made up and that there was nothing factual about evolution. Read the Bible. It's got all the answers you need.

WOW, Amanda, are you SERIOUS?? That's about the stupidest thing I've ever read on these boards. Did you fall asleep in geology classes? How can you not know about the processes of mountain formation and how a sea bed or ocean floor can become a tall mountain over millions of years? Come on, I learned that in elementary school! Schools really need to stop letting people graduate without a basic understanding of how nature works. Please don't go to college--you'll be wasting your parents' money and the professors' time.

Your question is a straw-man. All creationists do not believe that. Most creationists view the biblical "days" as eons. What is a day to God? The writers of Genesis wrote the Word of God in terms THEY could understand; God has no concept of time since He exists in all times (and places) simultaneously.

Because the geologic formations are used to date the fossils and the fossils are used to date the geologic formations.
It's called circular reasoning.

First I trust the creation account as it is written in Genesis.Yet I know we have NO conception of how God FORMES,KEEPS or TELLS TIME! I believe to say "there was the evening and the morning of (x) day also can mark the end loooong time! Wait wouldn't you mean MORE than 10,000 yrs?

Ambiogenesis is the fallacy made into technological know-how by ability of people who're desparate to furnish a sturdy beginning for the "risky" info for evolutiuonary progression. This "technological know-how" isn't subject to the scientific technique. It does not adjust to any undemanding regulation of technological know-how.it could neither start up nor flourish without process a few sort.Binary options are neither organic ,nor somewhat purpose searching for as they have distinctive achievable recommendations in spite of atmosphere.that's basically ineffective to declare maximum of " maybes" and "perhapses. "beginning destroyed ans so the paradyme with it,.

Creationists believe the earth is -6000 years.
But they don't believe in ancient fossils because they deny proof and are sheep.

They have quite a list of excuses. I know of one religion that says, "Dinosaurs never existed because they are not mentioned in the Bible". Religion is most popular with the uneducated. Some believers deserve pity.

young earth creationists think that the bible says that the earth is about 10,000 years old, and since the bible is the word of god it can't be wrong. their belief doesn't have anything to do with physical evidence, although they will sometimes attempt to justify it by cherrypicking or distorting physical evidence.
