What you want is regional accreditation for the University as a whole (WASC, North Central, Middle States, etc.), and national accreditation for the discipline specifically (NCATE for Education, ABET for Engineering, or AACSB for Business).

I don't remember, but I do remember their is a government web site that accredits even them, so do a search on gov sites.
