Is it bad to squeeze pimples? I do it all the time and people say that it can cause infection and scarring. Both have not happened so far. Will the scarring show up later in life? I need responses! =)

Yes, I got scars as a result of OCD/squeezing them.

I did not have acne as a teen, but I had breakouts in my mid-20s. The scars on my back are extremely awful but are fading. Some are on my face. Had I known about scarring, I would not have squeezed even one pimple!

Medium/tanned skin picks up the scars the most.

I have included a link for more information (includes causes, types, and treatment).

Best of luck!

I used to do it all the time and don't have any scarring. Back then, I felt that it was better to live with the possible consequences of popping pimples than leaving them and have other people notice and tease me about them.

the bacteria of a pimple lies on the very bottom inside the bottom of the pimple the whites stuff that you see are the whites cell
that attack the bacteria that causes the pimple to form . Your squeezing this is not considered healthy for your skin and dermatologist use to treat these this way but no longer. It is better to use something like proactive to treat the skin than popping them. I pop them myself but only because I am not concerned about the cause it do to my skin because i notice that they heal faster once you've gotton the bacteria out of the skin and that what you are doing when you pop them.

it is ok to extract pimples but you need to heat up your skin first to open your pores and when you extract take like paper towel or toilet paper and wrap it around your 2 pointer fingers and wet them with some astringent. dont use your nails, use the balls of your finger tips and squeeze the skin around the pimple and push down and roll your fingers up around the pimple till the infection is extracted, you can usually tell when a clear fluid comes out. Good luck.

I squeeze mine too..its really the only way to get rid of them. I don't think you can get scars, I never had them.
