They don't throw people in prison for debts in this country, unless they can prove fraud. Did your friend take out a loan with the intent of not paying it? I don't think so.......

If she comes back to this country they will be able to attempt to collect.

In America, credit card companies loan lots of money to people who they know can't really afford to pay them back. So they get lots of defaulted loans. And there are millions of people who enjoy seeing their rates increased to help cover these losses. Meanwhile, the banking industry enjoys record profits in the billions of dollars!

Gosh, I love this country!

Not a damn thing will happen to her as far as paying back the loan. What could be an issue for her is if she applys for a loan in China and they want to pull international bureaus and see the debt unpaid but thats a low possibility. If China credit lending is anything like the US (which I have no idea) then she can just slowly establish credit there just as she did here.

Interesting that she established sufficient credit to procure $60K in debt with an immigration problem. Now she gets deported and the cost of all that unpaid debt can be spread out against the rest of us. Ain't this just a grand country!

Don't know what will happen to her in China but we don't have debtor's prison here in the US.

If she is being deported back to China never to return to the US (atleast for the next 10 years), then she doesn't have to pay back a dime of that money. There is no way they are going to come after her in China.

Fico scores are relavent only in the united states. If it is an immigration issue, they will usually give her X amount of days to leave before they forceably extradite her to China. They most likey wont send her to Jail.

Don't worry about the $60,000.00 if she is leaving the US for good. There is no way they can collect on that debt when she is half-way across the world. How will they find her among over 1.3 billion people.

You tell your friend not to worry the rest of us will take care of it for her like everytime we buy or want to charge something and let it go over a month before we can pay it off (higher interest rates).

Ask her if there is a way we can assist her in getting out of our country quicker.
