Could I be charged with federal Mail Fraud and/or Wire Fraud?

If Apple sends the rebate by mail, could I be charged with mail fraud?

If Apple sends the rebate by internet (direct deposit into store credit) could they tack on wire fraud?

Fraud is a general term. Each case can warrant different charges in state/federal court.

I know it is store credit, but it doesn't make a difference whether its credit or its cash.

You will have to give them a name and the S/N and more in likely the phone number and probably your ssn and who knows what else. Plus if you give them a different address they will suspect anything anyways.

All are easy to track but don't worry, just given them the S/N of the stolen one so that the police can get it back to the owner.
