I guess you could eat cotton if you wanted to. After all someone, at some time, must have tried it. I figure that's how we got the saying " man do I have cotton mouth". And who has not eaten that all time favorite "cotton candy" But if your going to eat cotton start small so as not to choke,eat the little cotton balls that come in aspirin bottles.

You can eat as much cotton as you want, but a human doesn't have the ability to digest it. Cows can digest it.
Maybe try cotton candy?

It does not digest well and it can hurt the arsophagous (typo, maybe) by grabbing skin on the way down. It can kill you by getting wedged in your throat. It happened to a six year old when my boyfriend was an e.m.t. Eating cotton...not a good idea.

Yes, you can. Go ahead, eat it. Fresh picked cotton, yum. When you get out of the hospital after having your bowel obstruction removed, let us know how you feel then.

I really wouldn't try it. And I can't imagine how it could be incorporated into a dish? For the flavor or as a filling?

I wouldn't. Your digestive system doesn't deal well with long fibers, and you can't digest the stuff. But it probably won't hurt you.
One does wonder what sort of cooking class you've been attending, however.

no but i heard where people got cotton into there blood stream by shootin up and they got cotton fever wonder what would happen if you ate it
