It varies from employer.. .Generally, though you should hear something within two weeks to a month depending on the position... If you don't hear anything you can then make a phone call or send a nice "thank you" to the person that interviewed you thanking them for their time.. Sometimes you don't even get a "reject" letter which I find annoying.. It's nice to also know when you don't get a job.. So, you can keep looking and keep your options open.. good luck

I once applied for a job and it took so long for the company to call me back that I forgot that I applied. Normally a company will call within 14 days but it really depends on a lot of things. How many is the company hiring?
How busy is the HR and consulting departments?
How many applied for the job?
Did you apply at the beginning of the posting or towards the end?
Do they have to send your application to another site before contacting you (That is something that is happening a lot more as more companies are only using a satellite HR department in most locations.)?
In all honesty there is just to many variables to consider to give an accurate time frame. Wait 14 days then send a pleasent email/ telephone call letting them know that you are still interested.

If they want you, they will call the next business day. You should contact them again if you have heard nothing in a week.
It could be that they are busy, swamped, on vacation or something else.
