I gotta tell ya, the wit and the wisecracks that come out of atheists, agnostics and all the other non-Abrahamic religionolics is as sharp as a needle! The jokes are outrageously hilarious! No, I mean it! Check them out. Some of the best humour on R&S come from those they call "the unbelievers."

Good on ya! But am I just being biased? Why do you think we possess more of the "funnies?"

cause your humor center of your brain is removed when you join a religion

There is a certain mental freedom in humor that is often (though not always) lacking in religious people. There are too many things a religious person would find sacrilegious to joke about.

That's why I love the movie "Dogma," the creators of which have stated the premise that "God has a great sense of humor. Just look at the platypus."

Funny? What kind of spirituality question is this? Spirituality ain't funny! John_d_ayer .. now that dude is funny.. you know what I mean eh! he's funny alright! He even looks funny. (a little like you in fact... except no antlers) Just the other day he made a joke about the Church of "Latte" Day Saints ... now that's funny!

And what can we compare that to... an avatar with lips so sweet ... cute pouting lips.... like yours should be brimming with innuendo.. .. I mean look just take a look at the size of those devilish looking horny antlers for instance!

But what do you show for it? .... there we have your question... not one codified sexual flirtation... not one spiritual jibe (apart from the obvious one)..... not even a fart joke -- John_d_ayer's an educated man I suppose so it's an unfair comparison... and maybe not the best example.

Oh no... there are indeed a number of seriously funny, very witty followers of faith in this crowd if you look for them. You should look hard ~ I'd like to see that!

1. Religious people are good to laugh AT! Clearly "satansawaitin" is a perfect example!!

2. I agree with "Ray" - they get their sense of humour surgically removed. LOL!

Seriously, my father was a devout Catholic, but he had a great sense of humour. And get this, his jokes were clean, but FUNNY! They were clever, that's why, and he knew a lot about language and literature.

Ok...let me unlock the fundie in me for a second!

Atheists, agnostics and all the other non-Abrahamic religionolics are funny and make wisecracks and jokes...ha ha!
At what expense?
What does it accomplish?

Our q&a's are not meant to jab and poke fun at people, but rather to edify one another.

YOU just described atheists, agnostics and all the other non-Abrahamic religionolics, as bullies!

If you're religious it is bad form to laugh about it. If you are trying to proclaim the Truth of the Lord Your God and condemn heretics to eternal damnation, and are overtaken by a fit of the giggles it takes away from the gravity of the moment.

because we are able to see good humor even if we are the but of the joke.

for example the redneck Pagans lines may seem outlandish to some...but i have seen. and done several of them.

Yes i used a car hood for an altar once.. after my Pyromaniac gorve caught the wooden one on fire.

and yes. i have used Budwiser in place of mead for an offering.

i have not done any of the really funny ones.

if your ritual knife has a bottle opener on one end....

if you use that bottle opener to open your ritual drink offering...

if your goddess effigy changes monthly and in tune with the release of Playboy mag...

if your god effigy is Dale Earnhart...

Because generally it's easier to make jokes at someone else's expense...oh yeah, and that most of the religious people on here seem unable to recognize sarcasm. They definitely don't appreciate my wry witticisms.

The part of the brain that was reserved for religious thought, should it have been installed, filled up with humor and sarcasm genes. ; )
