I am 5'9 and weight close to 200 pounds (I don't have a scale). I have been trying to lose some weight (10 pounds would be nice) by not eating a lot of unhealthy foods, but it doesn't seem to be working... So I wanted to try factoring jogging into the equation... but jogging kills me in less than 10 mins. How do you get your body use to it? I have tried walking first then slowly speeding up...

Also with school around I don't have much energy for it anymore... I'm starting to think it is a lost cause.

First of all, if you are not used to jogging...start out by simply walking at a brisk pace. Then, once you get comfortable doing that on a regular basis, you can do intervals: i.e. walk 2mins jog 30 seconds. Then once you get used to that, walk 2mins jog 1 mins, and progress untill you are able to jog the whole time

Don't jog, at first. Try walking, for an hour or more. Then when you get used to walking your normal routine, start jogging the last bit. Start working yourself to a longer and longer jog. This takes time, but you need to get yourself in the habbit of walking first. Make a habbit of breaking a good sweat everyday. Oh yeah, when you start working out more, you tend to want to eat more too, because you feel like you deserve it or you feel you've still burnt a lot more calories than you'll eat; Don't eat more! Also quit drinking soda, even if it's diet; Drink a lot of water and maybe treat yourself to a glass of 100% juice too, but don't over do it.

keep your head up!!!
diet is 80% of weight loss
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-500cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose. eat 5-6 small meals a day which will keep your blood sugar more stable and keep your energy levels up. ea5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day, drink at least 8 glasses of water, plenty of protein, complex carbs and healthy fats.
jogging is a good for of cardio - but to get results you have to do it 4- 6 times a week for average of 45min. start with as much as you can but push yourself just a little further than you think you can do. write down every day how much you did and you will see you get better with every week. "get into"? just do what you have to do and soon your body will get used to it and you will like the way you feel and look.

Not at all... I weigh almost the same and have started yoga...also I started jogging in the air...i.e., lie on ur back and have a big pillow or folded towel under ur hips and hold up both legs ... now start running in the air or bicycle ... u will slowly gain strength... and maybe if you can start yoga that will be greatly helpful..

Big Hug to cheer u up and good luck..

get a solar outfit, it keeps it your body heat which makes you sweat more which means you lose more water weight. make sure you stretch before you go and after you get back. start by speed walking the first week, then go at a faster pace the next week, etc etc. also make sure to keep yourself hydrated.
