The way you have posed this question gives some pause for thought. I do tolerate others religious beliefs and I feel that each person has ther own path to spirituality. However, If a "religion" is sacrificing children, or going to war in the name of God, then The question is no longer about religion, but it becomes a question of morality and knowing the difference bewteen the two.

You should follow the New Testament and it's teachings. You should try to help everyone you can help, but if they do not want to study, shake the dust from your feet as Jesus told the disciples when he sent them on the limited commission - 2 by 2.
You should stand firm for the truth. You should not give an inch on the Word of God. You will give account any time you do "give in" to the things that are not in the book.

I don't have any control over the World or it's policies. What I do have control over is my life and how I live it. What I do who I know. I never knock anyone's beliefs. If I know you, over time you will notice that I am different from you. I never have really horrible things to talk about in my life over lunch because I refuse to participate in the BS of Satan. Know truth. That will keep you clearly focused. Doesn't mean you have to be mean spirited and stuff. Know who and what and why you are. And where you are going. I have been through and survived too much really bad BS in my life to allow myself to be defeated now. Be it by someone else's religious beliefs or by my own foolishness.

i live around people of multiple faiths including islam and christianity. one thing i've accepted that there are plenty of good people in every religious group. there's no stuff like kids being sacrifices and people getting killed in the name of religion by any of them.
besides the way they pray of follow religious customs, they're exactly like everybody else. don't assume everybody is a murdering fanatic. i set limits at fanatics and fundamentalists, but the people around me have proven to be decent people in that regard. i don't even have to try to tolerate them, there's no problem to tolerate, no killing for religion (which religion exactly do you think involves child sacrifices in the modern day?). i have my personal opinions on some beliefs, but they don't force theirs on me, i keep mine to myself.
you imply that we should not tolerate them, which would make you a lot worse than the people i know.
(i'm an atheist)

Tolerance does not equal acceptance! Read The New Tolerance by Josh McDowell. It is an excellent book on the subject.

I love everyone. We are to love God and others. I will never be held to answer for anyone else's sin and vice versa. I may not agree with someone that eats meat, but I just realize they have a difference and if the subject ever comes up I may express my reasoning and leave it with them as well as they share with me. We really should quit labeling everyone and just love. Sometimes different isn't "wrong."

My family is not killing children in the name of God, they oppose war, they do not spend all of their time fearing God.
I do tolerate religion, I don't agree with it but I tolerate it.

So long as they are not hurting themselves or others, and as long as they are not interfering with the rights of others to follow their own beliefs, then yes, I tolerate them.
When it crosses the line into harming others, then it's not just a question of "religion" but of harm and/or abuse.

With respect to people: I believe that every person is created in the image of God, no matter how poorly they are portraying him at the moment.
With respect to religion: I think religion is a man made concept to appease their conscience.
Jesus is God bringing himself down to humanity that we can have relationship with him, apart from autocratic institutions.
Jesus has been hyjacked by institutions at times, but that doesnt' change the fact that he is the one who came down from heaven to reveal God to man.
I have no problem explaining that to just about anyone, except atheists who can't communicate without becoming angry about faith in God.
