"If an atheist was defeated he would just deny it."
Yup. There are very few people (on all issues and sides), who would admit it if they were defeated. Though, they kind of admit they're defeated when, after you give an argument, they resort to swearing and making broad statements that usually go along the lines of "You're dumb" or "Your ideas are dumb" without any proof to back their statement up. When they start doing this, to me, they're practically saying, "I have no answer for that and in order to cover this up I will resort to swearing and tactless insults."
Sadly, I've even seen Christians doing this. It gives us a bad name.

The truth is the truth regardless of anyone's beliefs. Beliefs are based on experiences and learned patterns of thought, thus they are unreliable as a way of determining truth.
Believers have a hard time considering anything that does not conform to their beliefs. On the other hand, atheist are more objective in their approach in what to accept as truth. For example, when a believer encounters a contradiction about their deity, they "wave" it away by saying that man is arrogant or th deity is mysterious or incomprehensible. An atheist looks at the contradiction and weighs it in as another piece of evidence for or against a deity.

It is nothing more than both sides refusing to open their minds to the other. Neither people of faith not atheists can prove anything.
Scientists have nothing but theories and faith has nothing but events that happened 2000 years ago.
Both argue so much that if they just let each other be then this earth would be a much better place.

What? Who said this is a war?
Why are you starting trouble?
YOU are the one attacking both unbelievers and believers here.
I have never attacked anyone for their beliefs. I've never even suggested that someone change beliefs.
Live and let live. Why don't you try it?

You know, that amazes me too! They don't go to any church, they don't have any holier-than-thou atheist priests or ministers, they don't receive any monthly atheist newsletter or excerpts from "The Atheist Unholy Book." They don't gather for Strawberry Socials or bake or rummage sales, they don't have a choir. And yet atheists are strong.
Why is that? Must be that we aren't AN ORGANIZED RELIGION!!! And to that I say, "Thank god for THAT!"

For one I would point out that atheist are united on one principal - there is no god. Whereas christians have so many differences and interpretations of the bible that they are more apt to argue with one another than be united on any one argument.

I understand what you are trying to say.
but getting together athiest to be united is like trying to get hundreds of cats together in a group. They are very independent creatures, and because they have a strong will and deep mistrust of organizations ( like organized religion) , its difficult to encourage athiests to band together.
I suppose getting them to support a "cause" could help, kind of like putting many cats in one room, you might not be able get them to walk in a straight line, but you also cannot ignore hundreds of cats packed in a room rushing out!
