because if my significant other cheats on me, my brain will release a certain chemicals to my blodflow, causing a severe discomfort feeling in my chest like it's going to explode. This feeling is also known as the 'broken heart', and could be very painful.
I do not wish to cause my significant other to experience that kind of sensation, because it is utterly uncomfortable. I'd rather have him feel other type of sensation that is called 'love'. Because it feels better and a lot nicer.
We atheists believe that our time here on earth is the only thing we have. While we're here we're going to feel a lot of pain, pain from loosing a friend, watching a family member dies, pain from saying goodbyes, pain from being betrayed, and believe me, my fellow homo sapiens sapiens....no one can escape these pains...
So why caused another pain to my significant other? he already has gone enough pain and there will be surely more on the way. Let's just be nice to each other while we're here, and have a more enjoyable moments to share in life, while we're still alive...

Because some chemicals work to bond you with a person. And just because it might be a chemical that causes you to feel it...that love can still be the type that doesn't cheat. Lustful instinct alone cheats...real love that involves you emotionally as much as chemically doesn't...

It's not just a chemical, it's a learned response to that chemical. One aspect of that learned response, in many cases, is a reduced desire to cheat on the person with whom you associate the feeling of love.
You'll notice that in some other societies, it's common to have multiple partners. These people have the same chemicals in their brains that we have, they're just taught to interpret them differently.

Actually, it is not a chemical. It is a deliberate decision. Most people think that they are in love because there is someone that they want. That's not what love is. That's lust. Love is wanting the best for another person, and wanting to do things for that person.
A lot of people seem to like to be told that they are loved. Talk is cheep. What do you do?

Cheating on my spouse does not produce the same chemical.

Just because humans are made from "chemicals" doesn't mean we don't have a sense of morality. It doesn't make love any less real.

I cherish my husband, family & marriage, and would NEVER do anything to hurt my family.
I don't have to believe in bible-God to love & cherish someone & to keep my promises.
I am really getting tired of the assumption that atheists have no morals and are incapable of being honest within relationships.
