Just curious.

I didn't mean anything by "animals". It popped into my head when I thought up the question.

I am not a hardcore Christian. I haven't practiced religion in a long time.

It's a socially conditioned interpretation of electrical impulses in your brain.
Not that that makes it any less real.

It's a certain mix of brain chemicals. It evolved because it's a trait that helps us reproduce, and also helps us keep our children and families alive, and keep the communities we depend on running smoothly.
Animal behavior? Um, yeah... we're all animals, and even if you refuse to think of humans as animals, you can't deny that a dog, cat, horse, and other animals are quite capable of love.

Assuming you are a guy and a hardcore Christian
You go to a bar (most Christians go to bars, why not), you see a girl sitting next to you who is a clone of Jessica Alba and she's wearing what's covering only 5% of her body.
What's the first instinctive thing that comes to your mind? I highly doubt it's God.
I hope that answered your question.

I imagine we view love the same way as christians, muslims, buddhists, hindus, taoists, confuscionists... etc .. do.
It's funny I feel "love" the same way as I did when I was a practicing christian, nothing has changed....

A profound and favorable emotional reaction to another. Heinlein offered this definition: Love is when the welfare of another is essential to your own.

Chemical reactions in your brain linked to survival of the species. Yes, I would still die for several people.

Licentiousness and orgies and all that's sensual and erotic which will numbed their conscience from seeing Truth and the pain of awakening will be considered "love"
