Gingivitis is the early stages of Periodontal disease ( diseased and decayed gums). Gingivitis is reversable, but periodontal disease is not.
Your dentist will defeintly know if you have the early stages or if you have the advanced stages of periodontal disease.
Your gums will bleed if you have either, thats just your gums telling you that you need to floss and brush more. Use a soft bristled brush and floss in a sawing motion to avoid jabbing your gums. Also use a no alcohol mouth wash to avoid the stinging such as ACT.
If you floss and brush regularly and not too abrasively your gums and teeth will get MUCH better.

A dentist should be able to recognize gingivitis but it is not abnormal for your gums to bleed after brushing. If you brush your gums on a regular basis and now it is bleeding, see a dentist, but if you don't, start massaging them and put more pressure on them every time you brush. That should help.

Sure ur dentist would be able to identify n diagnose ur condition. n brush ur teeth well along ur gumline n dont over do it as it can cause problems such as gum recession n abrasion of ur teeth. use a soft toothbrush for ur brushing n handle it gently. brush atleast twice a day n floss ur teeth correctly. continue brushing even if ur gums bleed wif gentle brushing. there shouldnt b any bleeding after ur gums get healthy. n do visit ur dentist or hygienist to knw better abt ur condition. u may need a prophylaxis n they would tell u how to take care based on ur gum condition.

yes he would..But what i use is hydrogen peroxide 1/2 hydrogen and the same amount of water and swish it around my mouth for about a minute...It brightens your teeth and helps prevent gingivitis...then rinse throughly...it helps prevent bad breath...
