my cat has fleas on his face, I used frontline, and it got rid of the fleas on the rest of his body, but they seemed to have migrated to his face. is there anything else i can do to help my poor kitty? aside from the obvious, taking him to a vet.

your vet sees fleas? kidding. seriously, the frontline will be effective on your cat in 24 hours time . all the fleas will die. in the mean time, you can use a real fine comb, or a flea comb and pull them off individually. I've even used a feline flea spray on a cotton ball and dabbed it around the face area to prevent just this from happening.

Fleas are nasty things, and difficult to get rid of. You've taken a good first step. Hopefully they will take the next step for you and fall off and die. Ive found some sand fleas have to be dislodged after they die, because they are just dead and stuck in areas that aren't normally easy to dislodge them from.

So positive, they have migrated because they don't' want to die. hope they go soon!

It depends on how many fleas you can see and count of you cat's face or other parts of the body..

If there is alot, then I dont think you applied frontline right because it's always worked for me and I've been using it for 4 years now with atleast 5 different animals.

If there is only a few every now and then..well that just means that they are trying to make a home into your cat's fur but will eventually die..

If there is an excessive amount the best advice I can give is to call your vet, explain the situation, and ask what's going on.

Also, if you are to give your cat a bath....do it before you apply frontline, because if you do it afterwards it just washes it off and it's not as effective.

You can get a flea comb to remove the fleas from your cat's face. The frontline is a systemic flea killer, so no matter where on your cat's body the fleas are, they will eventually die. Maybe what you're seeing are the "nits" which are leftovers from the fleas. The flea comb will make your cat look better and put your mind at ease.

If this isn't what you had in mind, you could try giving your cat a bath. Clip the claws first, though!

Get frontline spray (the one that is made for both cats and dogs, CHECK THE LABEL!) Obviously do not spray it directly on the cats face, but put on a latex glove, dampen it with frontline and rub it onto her face, avoiding eyes, nose and mouth. You can also spray it onto a wash cloth and dab areas around her face. Just be careful not to come in contact with her eyes, nose, or mouth.

Yes, catch the fleas one by one from his face and drown them in Frontline, in a small bowl. And wipe the face with a cloth wet with Frontline (not spray on her face).

Get a bottle of flea shampoo and put a small amount on a warm, wet washcloth and rub it in. Then stroke your cat's face gently with the washcloth -- careful to avoid the eyes and wet part of the nose (rhinarium).

that happens to my cat also. every Friday i get a flea comb and groom my cats head and it cuts down on the fleas. you have to keep doing it or it will not work.also when I'm combing the cats head i dip the comb in warm water with a little cat flea shampoo.
Good luck

I put flea spray on a cottonball and apply to my cats face to kill the fleas, this way the spray does not get in their eyes. It works very well for me and my cats.
